ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Bahrain is recognized as a pioneer in Islamic banking and finance, as well as the leading financial hub in the Middle East, encompassing various asset classes such as private banking, fund management, insurance, and capital markets. The Department of Islamic Banking proudly offers two distinguished programs: a Bachelor of Science in Islamic Banking & Finance and a Master of Islamic Banking & Finance. The primary objective of the department is to provide students with a solid understanding of Islamic Banking and Islamic financial Jurisprudence.

Our mission is to equip graduates with essential knowledge and cultivate them into ethically oriented leaders capable of effectively navigating a globalized dynamic environment, enabling them to excel in key roles in Islamic Banking and Finance within both domestic and international business enterprises.

OUR FACULTY

The department courses cover a broad range of topics on Islamic business and finance that are delivered by our faculty members as well as by other faculty from the University of Bahrain and expert in the field Islamic finance. Our faculty are able to collaborate with other instructors who are actively engaged in research in Islamic business and finance as well as with postgraduate students that want to learn not only about the fundamentals of Islamic finance, but also about the contemporary research that continues to drive the field.
