FACULTY BIO

Dr. Usman Bashir is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Economics & Finance Department, College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to joining the University of Bahrain, he also worked at the University of Hail, University of Science and Technology of China, University of Lahore, and Faysal Bank. With a specific focus on financial intermediation, his research interests also include behavioral economics and financial markets. He presented his research work at various finance conferences and published it in leading finance and economics journals. His recent works have appeared in journals such as Economic Change and restructuring, International Economics Journal, Applied Economics Letters, Post-Communist Economies, & International Journal of Emerging Markets among many others. He is also a member of the American Finance Association (AFA), Chinese Economist Society (CES). He also acts as a referee for various journals including Journal of Corporate Finance, Applied Economics, International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Business Research, Finance Research Letters, and Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and Applications.
