Dr. Mohammed M.S Omar is an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Bahrain. He earned his MA.cc degree in international accounting and Financial Management from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, and his Ph.D. in accounting from Glasgow Caledonian University, United Kingdom. Prior to joining the University of Bahrain, Dr. Mohammed worked as a full-time faculty member/chairperson of the Accounting and Finance Department at A ‘Sharqiyah University, Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Mohammed's research interests include environmental accounting, corporate social responsibility, dividend policy pay-out, investment decisions, and Skills and Work-Based Learning in higher education. He has published several research papers on these topics in international refereed journals and IEEE conference proceedings. In addition to his research, Dr. Mohammed is committed to teaching and advising students. He teaches courses on Advanced financial accounting, Managerial accounting, Financial Statements Analysis, and Intermediate accounting.
He also supervises graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects. Looking ahead, Dr. Mohammed's research plans include predicting CSR indicators based on stakeholders’ concerns, and the effect of corporate frugality on crisis preparedness.
