Dr. Mohammad Selim

Dr. Mohammad Selim is a full-time faculty member at the Department of Economics and Finance, University of Bahrain. Dr. Selim obtained Ph.D. degree in Economics from Dalhousie University, Canada. Dr. Selim is the winner of 2020 Emerald Literati Award for Excellence. Dr. Selim is the leading expert on Islamic Monetary Policy, Innovative International Trade Deficit Financing, Poverty Elimination, and Cooperative business-based Insurance for joint risk and benefit sharing. Dr. Selim, a Canadian citizen, taught at Dalhousie University, Saint Mary’s University, Mount St. Vincent University, Mount Allison University, and University of New Brunswick, all in Canada. Dr. Selim taught at Royal University for Women and worked as Chairperson of Graduate Studies & Research, served as Head of Quality Assurance, Head of the Business and Finance, and Acting Dean for the Faculty of Business and Financial Sciences. Dr. Selim is currently supervising one student in Ph.D. program, two students in M.Sc. in Finance and one student in M.Sc. in Islamic Banking. Dr. Selim won Research Awards, Best paper award, and Gold Medals for his academic and research excellence. Dr. Selim is the founding Coordinator for the Graduate Program on M.Sc. in Real Estate Development and Property Management at the College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain. Dr. Selim published in many Scopus indexed journals, including the following: Thunderbird International Business Review, Cogent Education & Finance, Taylor and Francis, Banks, and Bank Systems, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy & many more.
