Dr. Makarand Upadhyaya

Dr. Makarand earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rajasthan, India in 2009. He also holds an MBA, PGDPM and PGDCA from Vikram University, Ujjain, India. He has more than 25 years of combined experience in industry and academia. Widely traveled around the globe, he was awarded the Faculty Distinguished Scholarship Award in 2007 by the Research Council, India. His areas of research fall within the domains of consumer behaviour and strategic board leadership. He also chairs and is a member of various committees and advisory boards. He is the author of many books: Leadership: Find Your Way to Lead; Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) and Economic Development: Theory and Recent Experiences; Marketing Management: Concepts, Theories and Practices; Marketing Strategies and Management: Sector Analysis; and Media Planning: Impact of TV Advertisements on Children. He has nearly 90 papers published in several international journals. He has been the chairperson and keynote speaker at the forums on business strategies and economic growth. He has conducted more than 40 training and development sessions on client relationships, behavioural aspects of the overseas market, stress management, interpersonal skills, and team building for senior and junior level corporate managers. He was a guide and mentor to students pursuing Ph.D. and MBA courses. Courses Taught: Sales and Distribution Management, Retail Management, Service Marketing, Promotion Management, Consumer Behavior, Brand Promotion, Interactive Marketing, Digital Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, Advertising Management.
