FACULTY BIO

Dr Gagan Kukreja is Program Coordinator of MS in Accounting and an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting, College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain, Bahrain. He has over 24 years of experience in university teaching, academic administration, training, and research. He holds various professional qualifications such as ACCA (UK), CPA (US), CMA (US and India), and CIA (US). Dr Kukreja supervised many candidates for the PhD, Master’s and Bachelor’s level and his current area of interest is Integrated Reporting, Corporate Governance, Auditing, Blockchain, and Big Data. He examined numerous Master’s Dissertation and PhD theses of many international universities. Dr Kukreja published over 40 research papers and cases in international refereed journals includes International Journal of Critical Accounting, Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting, Journal of Investment Compliance, EuroMed Journal of Business, Journal of Management Development, South Asian Journal of Business & Management Cases and many more. Further, he is an international review member of Pearson International in accounting and auditing and prepared solution manuals for Pearson’s Textbooks. In addition, he contributed (with co-authors) more than 10 chapters to various edited books published by Springer and IGI Global. He is an editorial member in IGI Global in accounting, finance, and banking. Dr Kukreja got the Best Research Paper Award (Gold Shield) and Commendable Research Paper Award (Bronze Shield) in ICAI International Research Awards 2020 by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, with other co-authors. His Case Study (with other co-authors) also secured the Amity Award for Global Case Competition 2021 during the 21st International Business Horizon, Inbush Era World Summit 2021. During his PhD, he was also a recipient of Junior Research Fellowship from University Grant Commission, India. He is a curriculum specialist in accounting, banking and finance and developing new programs/courses. In addition, he assisted the university in QA, NQF and Accreditation (AACSB/ACCA/CIMA/CFA/IMA).
